About Me
I have been practicing law in Orlando, Florida, since 1991. My law practice and law office are unique. My family and I live on a one-acre lot in Heathrow Woods located close to Interstate 4, Orlando's main traffic artery. In 1991, I built a separate building, about 1,000 square feet in size, next to our home which I have used exclusively for my law practice.
I don't commute and I don't wear a suit and tie to work. Before I started working next to my home most other attorneys told me that people would not hire an attorney in a home office; they were wrong. Since 1991, my law practice has grown but my office remains small and friendly. My staff includes my paralegal, named Jackie, and a part-time secretary we call “File Girl.” Jackie and File Girl have their own office which they share with our "office dog," Stoli. Because my office is next to my home, appointments are required.
My law practice focuses on asset protection and consumer bankruptcy. Most of my clients are concerned about problems with creditors, potential lawsuits, and how an adverse judgment will affect their family's future. I find this work interesting and challenging because it requires knowledge and integration of several different areas of the law including creditor rights, bankruptcy law, general corporate law, estate planning, and taxation. I feel a sense of accomplishment whenever I help my clients protect themselves against their legal adversaries and ease their financial worries. I provide most legal services on a fixed-fee basis so clients know their legal costs in advance. The most rewarding aspect of being an attorney is my clients' appreciation and satisfaction.
Before becoming an attorney I attended the following schools:
- Northwestern University, BA, 1970
- Harvard University, MA, 1973
- University of Florida, JD (with honors), 1975
